Need help with clearing searchbar

I've got a problem with clearing the searchbar from old searches. It's just full of random crap, please help...

Im using the fulDC client version 6.76. Where is this "purge" button located?

It's pretty hard to miss the Purge button even if you're not looking for it. You should get better acquainted with the Search window.
