SVCD question please

I have a 695mb avi that I want to burn to cd either vcd or svcd cd-r is only 700mb how do I shrink file?? So as to fit on the 700mb blank cd-r??

huh? You just said the file you have is smaller than the CDR, so why is it a problem to fit it?

I don't think you understand everything. Like me use this analogy to help you to understand. Say you have two mp3 files, both are 80mins long, but one of them is encoded with an insane bitrate and is 1gb in size, and the other one is encoded at 32kbps and is only 12mb. Both will fit on a music cd because it goes by minutes, not filesize.

The same thing applies to VCDs for the most part. For the best way to fit your video file and any other video files on a (S)VCD is to use NeroVision 2. It is very simple to use and it will re-encode the video(s) file(s) into the proper format on-the-fly. It requires a Mpeg-2 plugin (Not a codec, this is a plugin which is due to license issues), so the best thing to do is to go to www.nero.com, download the "update" packages 1 and 2 (3-5 if you want) and then find a keygen for it. NeroVision can also burn DVDs, so once you get a DVD Burner (if not already) then you can still use that program. Even if you were burning the 695 file straight to a CDR, it should be able to finish except that the cd would have to be "finalized" which should make a difference.
