I think that the fact the Bush won, sucks. Reason: I don't want any more stupid wars in which USA is ripping oil, etc. off poorer counrties and instead of "freeing" the country's people, just making their lives even worse than before.
If Kerry had won, it possibly would have calmed down bin Laden and his friends...

Indeed he did. Now would be the time for Democrats to change themselves to be liked by more Republicans, and vice-versa.

My opinion? Sure, like the rest of the world, I am very disappointed with the result, but what worries me more is the mentality of the American voters. Why did they vote Bush?

From what I heard from a news interviewee, the "gun-toting, gay marriage rights-opposing, anti-abortion, God-fearing fundamentalist Christians of middle America" (quoted from the guy) didn't vote in 2000, but this year they all went in droves to the voting booths. And who else would they have voted for besides Bush, the crusader for their "just and moral" causes?

The United States is fast becoming a quasi-Christian theocratic plutocracy, I tell you. I feel sorry for whoever will be the president in 2008, s/he's going to have eight years worth of mess to clean up, e.g. repairing international relations, improving education/health care. Oh, and renaming Freedom fries back to French fries.

I think the main reason is that your average American votes for who they see as a nicer guy instead of who will be a better leader. Yes, charisma is important, but I'd rather have someone who makes the right choices. This was my first year voting, as I just turned 18, and although Kerry won my state (Massachusetts) rather easily, the rest of the nation is not as, well, smart.
