Video card

I would like to use my 65" HDTV ready tv as my monitor.
Is there a video card that would produce a clear sharp picture? I use a comcast digital
HiDef VDR to produce the high def picture.
Would the video card that I purchase to install on my computer be connected to the tv or tv box?
My computer is a Dell 4500 Dimension with a pentium 4 processer and 512 megabits of ram!
