how do i open a dctmp file

how do i open a dctmp file

hi i cannot open my video files after i have downloaded them they go int o my finished folder but the dont run i can only hear te sound and its very choppy.after the file is downloaded it changes to its relavent file type .mpg.wma .avi i have tried renamin the file to .avi .mpg .wma how can i play these files plz help!

also i have tried vlc and it does the same just plays the sound but no pic plz help

If it's still called .dctmp, it's not finished. Renaming the file will not help you, as vlc can play the file even if the extension is wrong. If the file is the same after the download completes, the file is probably broken, or you need a specific codec to play it, too specific for vlc.

the filehas changed from dctmp to .avi .mpg .jpg i have downloaded 8 different vids and all the same what can i do

.jpg eh ? lol :P
Anyway use a different player. Or get the required codec for Windows Media player.
