Copy magnet links for group of files

Post by ToH » 2006-02-02 17:20

i am talking about "own file list".

For example, now if i wanna post to my forum magnet links for a bunch of files i need to copy them one by one.
Would be great if i can select all files and copy magnet links from them to clipboard.

So you'd want them copied sequentially with line feeds in between?

I'm not sure. The MAGNET spec does contain the ability for one link to have multiple files in it - if multiple files are selected, that seems like the right result, not necessarily what you want.

What you want is more suited to a collection file.

http://bitzi.com/lookup/3N675KOD3RXYORE ... XT4KQN7GQQ

That is the bitzi page for DC++ 0.673. The single magnet link there has multiple hashes in it, though I'm not quite sure whether that's what GMT meant.

It's something like that.

DC++ can't handle them, and they seem to be unpopular on the magnet mailing list, so I don't think it makes sense to implment them.

so why not make existing feature more useful?

So you'd want them copied sequentially with line feeds in between?

Why not enter the feature in the bug tracker, as the topic of this forum says, and as I said in the announcement at the top of the forum?

I'm not sure how much I like it, but it's worthy of consideration. Assuming, of course, that you stand behind your feature enough to enter it in the correct place.

How the hell i know when this final state is? :)

But give me hint, to what component i must add this request?
Shared files or UI?

I'm deactivating his account, since the details he posted in his feature request indicate that he wants it for ripped copies of CDs and for seasons of TV shows.

Do you intend to purge bug 822?

Nope, it works fine the way it is. I will, however, disable his bugzilla account...

At least I think it is. I keep it for the same reasons I've kept the posts about infringement with fusbar's "you shouldn't steal" response on them. I can have my mind changed, if you think otherwise.

No. That's a reasonable response. No mind changing on the horizon.
