From Limewire, I got a little tool for xp pro, where when it asks you for the activation number, this little program kicks out that, and you have no trouble!

My question is:

how fast will stuff download with using a 56k modem. on the other p2p stuff, the most i got was 3k/s

this one looks pretty good! Better than kazaa ever was, by far!!

on a 56K modem, don't expect screaming speeds. 3K/s is probably a decent speed for a modem on DC++.

Agreed.

56kb/s = 7kB/s. This is the theoretical maximum. The actual *data* will never reach this data rate due to things like protocol overhead (application/TCP/IP) and line noise.

3kB/s is a pretty decent speed. 4kB/s if you are really lucky, although you have to bear in mind that this bandwidth is being shared netween upstream and downstream.

shared, yes.
it's looked more like 5k dl, 3k upl, on all puters i have seen that had 56k and got a 33.6k carriers(connection speed = or higher that 33.6k).

it seem to me that the upload speed always match the carrier, dl speed can varies dependings on compresion ratio.
