Need help ... unknown format

I'am downloading a File called "Intolerable Cruelty pt.1.mpg
cannot open it. WMP tells all the time...something like"searching code server and so on. Is that a COde like DivX or what ?

...and DivX Player says" Faild to open file. Please that it is a valid AVI or MPEG-4 File"......never heart this before

Its probably encoded with mpeg2. www.doom9.org should have the codec. Also, if you installed a software dvd player (powerdvd, windvd) then you should be able to play the movie.
