qix

Post by [Telia]Rozing » 2003-12-25 18:34

Hi

I have a movie file with the extension Nowhere in Africa.qix.sharereactor.avi. Does anyone have more information about this type of files (qix)? I think it has something to do with the sound of the file. What codec is required for Windows Media Player? Where do I get it?

I am not even sure whether this is the right place to raise this question? Does anyone know where I might be able to find it?

There's a lot of hits in Google if you search for "qix codec".
A lot "hacker" and most in German for those hits .... Good Luck !

QIX is a divx release group. QIX stands for QualitiX. They are the nice people who rip movies. That tag doesn't have anything to do with a codec.

Do you know how I can get hold of them? Or - I would say my main target is to be able watching my downloaded movie. What shall I do?

Software called GSpot will tell you what codecs you need to watch your movie.

Heh, they probably wouldn't appreciate being contacted for codec help. GSpot works admirably at determining codec, and then only a little use of Google will get you fixed up.
