sorry about all the questions people...
i am just a little confused, i read stuff about burning, and converting stuff to svcd etc...
but i was also talking to a friend and he says nero 6 does it all for you, and i have burnt things on nero before, and they all worked on my dvd player...
so why do people do the converting stuff?...
am i missing the point...once again, sorry bout all the Q's...

Some files are straightforward to convert, with this senario let Nero do it.
However programs such as TMPGEnc and Virtual Dub will do the job far more efficient, you may also have to strip the audio from the file(AC3 for example) and there lots of other individual programs that can resize, correct out of sync framerate's.
Go to this site, apart from the forum's, you will find program's and very explicit how to guides.
