Player and Preview?

Which is the best Player to play mainly .avi and .mpg but other forms too and that supports most codecs, summary= a good player?
Which is the best preview tool to check movies cause' I always get poor quality?

This isnt dependant on the player. A codec is system wide that all applications can access. I personally prefer Media Player Classic

MPC (media player classic) has the ability to render movies that are not finished. There is also the popular AVI Preview.

I personally would recommend VideoLAN. It also supports alternative video formats like ogm and mkv natively, so you don't have to go searching for filters all over the internet.

Yes VideoLan is the best video player for all round :) and it previews allso ITS GREAT!!!!! 8)

Well since it looks like we're voting, I'm a media player classic fan, dont let its name put you off, its alot better then windows media player. Another one I like is mplayer, its a great player ported from linux, plays everything I can throw at it.

Which cooincidentaly has support in BCDC :) /mplayerc

Not that I want to bribe people into using a better media player, but if the shoe fits...
