problems with files without sound...

Post by acidflair » 2004-03-08 19:10

hey all...
sorry bout the last post..

i have downlaoded some files .avi's, there are 3 alltogether, the 3rd one runs fine (althoguh i think is in mpg format, not a prob), but the other 2 run, but dont have sound, in fact, when i try run them on medai player, media player tries to download a codec, but obviously, fails, if i use avi preview, it plays it, but with no sound?...
has ne one else had these problems, and are there ways around it?..
i used g-spot, but i didnt seem to know what the prob was, i can send screenshots if that would help anyone?...
thanx..
any more info needed?

G-spot should be able to tell you which codecs the media needs, and which are not installed on your system. You can try avicodec, which is my favorite. (I would try searching on the web for it though, and not DC++ because everytime I try to search for it people have old versions that were buggy.) Both of these programs should be able to give you a red flag or other visual clue that you need to install a specific codec.
My Visual Studio .NET 2003 is licensed under my name, and the same for my operating system... What about you?
I surf on an OC3 without limitations, two to be exact, and I'm not joking.

Yes. This is probably the least reliable way, but it's worth a shot.

Do you have an AC3 filter installed, if not get one from here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video ... filter.cfm
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
