When I have downloaded some movies they have been In unsuported format.
I know what it means, but the thing I`m asking is that does anyone know a program that coud fix it? I already have installed divX so the problem is not that.

It will tell you what fourcc code a given AVI uses. Searching on Google for that will let you find the codec.
