add an entry to your hosts file

Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

like this:
127.1.0.3 1.0.0.127.opm.blitzed.org (if you connect from the same box)
or
127.1.0.3 4.3.2.1.opm.blitzed.org (if you connect from 1.2.3.4)

remove the entry again to regain the right to access your hub

can you explain a little better why we might need this?

"open proxies" are servers on the internet through which (mostly) anyone (hence the "open") can tunnel their connection. i.e. anyone may connect to your hub with the IP of the proxy.

an open proxy is a Bad Thing (tm). they are most likely maintained by dumb or ignorant sysadmins. usually they are used by spammers so they can send spam without risk of being detected (i.e. kicked from their ISP). crackers and other malicious types love these, because tunneling through several proxies (IP addresses) makes it extremely hard for, for example, law enforcement to track the real source down.

the reason I created DnsBl was because there is the potential threat of people trying to mess with / destroy your hub. any regular user should never use an open proxy to log onto your hub, so when you do get a connection from one it is very likely that the user is not up to anything good.
