Hello!
I have a problem, I don’t get my hub running dch++ showing in public.
I have this stated in dchpp.xml
<!-- Hublist registration -->
<!-- Enable/disable hub list registration -->
<RegisterWithServers type="int">1</RegisterWithServers>
<!-- The description to use when registering the server on hub lists. -->
<Description type="string">[Imperial] -3slots- 15 GB-</Description>
<!-- The ip or dns name of the server. Mandatory if you want hub registration to
work (no autodetection). Don't add port number, it's automatically appended. -->
<ServerIp type="string">liberty1.mine.nu</ServerIp>>
<……..>
<RegistrationServers>
<Server>vandel405.dynip.com:2501</Server>
<Server>dc-dreamland.dhs.org:2501</Server>
</RegistrationServers>
Anyone that can se whats wrong?
Btw.. 1670users and between 2-5% CPU usage! Arne you are amazing!
Can't get dch++ to register in public

<Server>dcreg.mine.nu:2501</Server>
<Server>dreamland.gotdns.org</Server>
<Server>dc-dreamland.dhs.org:2501</Server>
<Server>HubReg.1stleg.com:2501</Server>
Thank you! I just realized that the dc-dreamland.dhs.org:2501 I was using does not work (no IP to the dns) and that dcreg.mine.nu and dreamland.gotdns.org goes the same IP. Could it be that the vandel405.* thinks my hub is a fake somehow due to high user count? I have now changed so I get 1stleg.com and the dcreg.mine.nu istead. Is there anyway of refreshing the dchpp.xml file without restarting the hub? or does +refresh also rehashes the dchpp conf file?

Personally, i'd register with vandel too, as it's still the one that most lists primarily sync from (i think).
But still, i've not seen my hub on the list since we started with dch++ i don't think. Maybe i'm just not looking hard enough, OR maybe the lists are timing out on DnsBl when they try to "ping" us.

the vandel pinger can't get into your hub without a workaround (which I have in OpComExtra.lua or HublistPingerHelper.lua)
..that would require you to run luascript though, so most likely I'll build a small plugin for that soon (if you really need to be on the vandel list)

Thank you!
No need to rush and make a small plug-in for my sake. I would be very thankful if it was included in the next release of dch++.
Btw, the hub seems to get really time-consuming logins and "lagg" in main with about 1700 users, even thou the cpu usage is almost non. It's on a 10mbit connection, so It should handle at least 2200 users (with other softs @ a lot higher cpu usage).

I noticed that the hub got on the hublist fine on.1stleg (hubreg.1stleg.com) where it even showed the amount of users I had = “hub ping works or they have no. But on dreamland (dcreg.mine.nu) I just got in on there list with a -3. So I guess they can’t get there “hub ping working either on dch++.
Could be the same problem as with vandel

re: hublist:
I notices you timed out on my list.. 30 seconds was not enough for the pinger to get the whole bunch of myinfo's it seems (so you were reported as having less users)
re: dreamland vs vandel:
you're not the only one having problems with dreamland. personally I haven't seen it's pinger around for a couple of days. vandel hasn't shown up either (I started watching all pingers 5 days ago).
the problem is not the same as with vandel. vandel's problem is that it doesn't send any MyINFO (or at least, it didn't when I checked), and without myinfo, the pinger won't get any nicklists which it uses to check your hub.
re: lag:
you could try to disable the WriteTimeout in dchpp.xml, dunno if that helps
re: time-consuming login:
I'll ask arne to add a "<DCH++> sending userinfo... please wait" ... "<DCH++> done" in there, as it feels a bit odd to sit and wait there while it's seemingly doing nothing (this could also be fixed by a plugin or something)

Is there anything else to do to get the "pinger" to get the user list faster? I know there are hubs on the same ISP with more users, so obviously there is a faster way to do the login. I looked over in one of my other hubs when last the pinger payed me a visit from dreamland, I have ISP script there for the only pinger that can connect to me is this one

is there anyway you could write a plugin that will bypass all plugins/checks for a certain nick/ip?
I think it we are only having problems with the timeout period as you say, but i think the DnsBl doesn't help one bit for my hub - it adds atleast 10s more delay.. however if the hub lists could by-pass it, they may have a chance of getting on

these are the only two pingers i see in my hub:
27 030920-130006: 129.125.102.221 [rug.nl]Pinger
28 030920-160945: 12.246.138.204 [1stleg]Pinger
(with "ping" in their nicks atleast).
I have opcomextra.lua running.
________
http://www.1stleg.com/PublicHubList.config -- this list has my hub, yet reports that i have 16 users, and has not updated my description, it still thinks i use Ptokax!!
http://dreamland.gotdns.org/Publichublist.config.bz2 - nothing. not even there.
http://www.neo-modus.com/PublicHubList.config - hah, i'd be so lucky! I do realise the fact that this hub alternates hubs in the list, but i've never seen my hub there while using anything other than Ptokax.
http://www.hublist.org/PublicHubList.config.bz2 - seems adament that my hub is online, however reports that i have 0 users everytime it pings me! AND it's still not updated my hub description tag.
Over all, not such a good turn out, wouldn't you agree? lol
