Matching queue

When I am searching for alternatives based on the tth key I can right click on one of the results to match it with the queue. It catched my attention that dc++ is always downloading the complete file list from that user first! Why is this necessary? Can't dc++ match the selected file with the queue instantly and start downloading it?

I am wondering if this can be fixed.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Please read the changelog from a couple of versions back and look in your advanced settings.

This sounds as if when this setting is enabled dc++ adds all search hits to the download queue automaticly. But this is not what I want, I don't want to have all hits added. I want to add some of the items myself.

The only thing that is disturbing me that when I select an item to match queue the complete file list of the user is downloaded first. I don't think this is necessary: why can't dc++ start the download directly, thus without having to download the complete file list first?

A manual search for alternative sources has the same effect as a automatic one (naturally, since it saves a search).

Either you let DC++ match the queues automatically, or you don't..

Because you can only download one file from one user at the same time. It makes no sense to download one file and then match the queue..

I think he's missing the point of match queue. The way I read it, you're looking for "Download to..." Match queue downloads the user's filelist and checks the files in his list against those in your download queue to see if he can be added as a source. The idea behind the auto-match queue is that if you're getting, say, a rar-set, then after one autosearch it will match queue with all that have it and they will be added as sources much faster.

I do have a related question though... why will it download the list again if you match queue then you add soemthing else from another user, realize the user with whom you matched queues has it and then when you add them as a user it will automatically match again... by downloading it instead of just the file you have in your local directory. I think that there should be a reasonable delay of maybe 10 minutes or so before you would download the list again instead of using the local copy. I'd like to hear opinions on this (which I think is related)

Well, because it takes more effort to code that check and a method would need to be devised to check if the filelist has updated: something that involves a protocol change and therefore must be carefully considered.
