Pop Up MyList Message

Post by Sabre Runner » 2004-05-21 12:53

All I want is a feature that when someone downloads your personal list you can have him receive a message highlighting cool things, files he/she must download or spread or anything.

Can that be done?

It might be possible, but your post describing the feature is too vague to tell for sure.

All I mean is for there to be a text box

To enter information into (Like in the Sharing section of the settings) and that will pop up to anyone downloading your personal list.

Pop up? Well, a "comment" field for some files is much more reasonable.

What's the meaning of this:
... files he/she must download or spread or anything.

(it doesn't seem to be in your new description.)

I was just giving an example.

My purpose in suggesting this is that I can say to anyone who downloads my list "Hey, look. There are files in each directory called 'On CDs - something...' You should get them if you want to know what I've already burned and ask me if you want it back on my drive.."

That's basically it.

Like an "Away" Private Message that would be sent to everyone who downloads your filelist?

Just like that only...

Drop the "Like" and the "Away" and erase the 'n' out of "An"

Mmmm, sounds spamlicious!

I'm in favor of per file/directory comments in the XML file lists. Any other implementation would have to be... non-annoying.

Personally I download filelists to see what I want to get, not what you want me to get. I say put a readme file in an obvious place so people can get it if they want to.

I'm already beginning to patch with a popup-killer. ;))
Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.
