Files with non ascii (Unicode) characters

Post by Datasage » 2004-01-18 22:33

It appears that DC++ does not seem to support sharing of files with non ascii characters. Is this specifically a client limitation or would servers need to be changed to support this too?

I would like to allow the files that i have with unicode chars to be shared, are there any mods that support it?

Well, if you share files with unicode paths or names, then those same filenames also need to be supported in:
file lists
search results
client to client communication ($get <filename>)

This will definitely be addressed in whatever protocol follows Direct Connect... One client can't support it in the current one without also having support in the others.
