Program-aware DC++?

Post by meermanr » 2003-02-09 15:25

I think I am onto a winner here:

How about if DC++ could periodically check that certain program are running? And open up more slots accordingly?

For instance is the screensaver is running, opening more slots might be quite useful for a lot of people. Or vice versa.. open x many less slots that default if, say, eMule is detected running.

My own personal case I'd like to check it Media Player is running, and reduce open slots accordingly..

Any thoughts? Or elegent implementation ideas? :wink:

Just a note that an idle checker could also be useful in a similar way. Test for idleness in the same way as instant messenger.

(and meermeer, I PMd you about the QoS stuff)
