A small feature request... or more change...

Post by Tweety » 2003-02-16 23:54

I'm a birdbrain... I can't remember what I do from one minute to another... :)

So I go browsing trough some files and I find something I wan't and click it. A minute later I klick it again not understanding why I can't get it to download...

The reason for this is mainly because in the download list(bar?) at the bottom the name of the file doesn't show if the file isn't currently being downloaded, ie the user has no open slots or similar...

I'm no coder and I have no idea how complex this would be to implement, but to me it would be a great help. And I belive it would be a help to others with a similar short attention span...

The transfer bar at the bottom of the DC++ window better show the status if you've queued a download from someone. If it does not, DC++ must think they're offline. Why not keep the Download Queue open and look at it? Its status bar should show an error if you try to download the same file.

That is the one I'm talking about... :)

It shows I'm trying to download or connect from user A and B, but the name of the file isn't shown until the download is started...

I don't think what you ask for is possible. You're really queueing a connection to that person, once the connection is established, the file to transfer is picked from your queue. When it prints out "Connecting...", it doesn't know which file it wants to transfer, so it'd be really hard to print it...

Yeah, I don't think it is possible. How do you show the filename of a queued file from a user if you have say 10 files queued off them? It obviously can't show them all unless you have 10 "connecting" bars, and thats just clutter.

Ok... I didn't know it was that complex... as I said earlier...:)

Thanx for the replies, I'll just have to work on my memory...:D
