wtl noob question

Post by zmack » 2003-04-16 19:39

well... sorry for posting this here, but all the wtl forums i found had been closed for about 2 years or so and.. well... i'm pretty sure arne knows some wtl :D

basically my problem is i have no clue how to use CSplitterImpl. I have a mdi app and i'd like the child window to be split in 3 ... sort of like dc++'s child windows for hubs. the child window's class inherits CSplitterImpl<CChildWnd> and.. well.. i call SetSplitterPanes.. and then set the splitter style to proportional and well.. then i can't see my controls anymore. What am i doing wrong ?

If anyone could help me... i'd be in his / her deabt for aaaaall eternity ( or at least owe that person a beer ). Some wtl resources / forums / whatever would be greatly appreciated too :)

n.e.way... thanks :))

Ok, not an answer, but a pointer at resources: here are the archives of the old ATL mailing list at Microsoft. It closed down and moved to develop.com. The new list archives are here.

You could use a nested structure of CSplitters, I'd think... (I haven't tried that in particular, though). CSplitter 1 contains window 2 and splitter 3.
Splitter 3 contains windows 4 and 5, leaving you with three windows (2, 4, and 5)... Sorry, that wasn't very clear...
