connection always times out....

Im running a hub using Ptokax and when someone tries to connect the connection always times out. I have verifed that the IP address is correct and my firewall is off and im not using a router. Not unless their is one built into my DSL modem and I dont know how to use it. Can anyone offer any help on how to fix this.....I have tried several different things but nothing seems to work yet. I know these questions get asked all the time but I havent found anything useful to me yet. I would appreciate any help.

What Modem do you use ? 'cause some ADSL modem are in fact routers and have built-in firewall...

look at the manufacturer web site.
or in the manual you got with your modem, if it has come with one. :)

did you run the program only or start the hub serving also ?
