What are some issues that a hub owner might have?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

What types of protective measures would a hub owner need to take to protect his computer?

Beside Antiviruses, and Firewalls, what else can be done?

Hmm, one thing comes mind: keep tight control over the services that Windows provides. This may or may not be specific to WindowsXP, but just the same.. Start > Run... > "services.msc"
Peruse the list of running services and disable anything that is not necessary.

Plenty of reading material on the subject is available here.

Most importantly, the evil RPC service should be disabled.
