Ptokax hub question

Me and a friend are starting a private hub using Ptokax. He has the software on his computer, and can allow the hub to be online or off. I have the software on my computer also, and I want to be able to have all the controls he has. We can't seem to get this working. When I try to run the software, it doesn't do anything. Please tell me what we can do, or give me a link to a place telling me.
