what is the hub's owner responsability about the files and material people share in the hub? I have been offered to become owner of a hub, but I wonder what kind of legal implicatons that would represent for me.

Depends on what country you live in. Call a lawyer if you're really worried.
The copyright-police can and will come after you if they find you. That's what makes running a hub so much fun!
