[b]While playing downloads from dc++ downloads directory, I recieve an error message from my media player about some unknown application error(I have wmp 9.0 and it gives out error# c00d11cd).Can anyone help me out?

If its an AVI file, open it with GSpot. Whats the fourCC code for the audio and video?

Try playing the movie in windows media player classic

The video codec is 4cc div3 Name: divx 3 low motion
the audio codec is stream 1 ,name: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
As per gspot `The file is truncated in legacy index area ' -I do not know what that means.
My player is wmp 9.0 and the unplayable file is an avi.In fact all the movies that are in my dc++ download directory are unplayable - Can these be playable

did you use a multisource client to download these movies?

you need to run divfix over the movies OR use media player classic to fix fix/watch them.

where can i get divfix?
I tried playing it by classic player but it only plays in minimized screen i.e. when i try to maximize screen there is no video

divfix has made one of the files playable - but as far other files in download folder are concerned I still can't play them.and you ask if i downloaded from multisource client: In fact I am not aware what the term means(newbie!)

What does it say in the absolute upper left corner of your DC++ window? What I'm asking is: what version/mod of DC++ are you using?

ok, thanks for answering my question. I (we) were thinking maybe the video files had been corrupted by an unsafe multi-source mod of DC++. Since that is not the case, the next step is to determine whether or not DC++ had anything to do with the fact that you can't play those other video files.

What size are they? AVI? MPG? Did you notice any rediculously fast download speeds when you got those files?

(please don't mention any filenames that might insinuate copyright infringment)

My conclusion is that you need to install the proper codecs for each video. Sorry I can't help more.

try another player such as divx player: it seems to play alomost anything
same as real player
