how can I make a network (LAN) hub?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

first....i don't know english very well...so sorry for the future mistakes
I manage a network of about 20 members (LAN) and we are sick to share our files with windows default sharing program, I want to use dc++ or some related program to share our files...just like sharing to the internet...same setings, same options..of course I have to be the Administrator of that hub, what I want is to know what setings, IP, how to create a hub...all the stuff...thanks, and if this Topic is not in the right place sorry again
What does "default" meen = Computer Science. A particular value for a variable that is assigned automatically by an operating system and remains in effect unless canceled or overridden by the operator.
