No sound

I hope some nice person out there can help me, Im a novice at downloading, have just downloaded a video file, and after waiting so long to get it downloaded, am so dissapointed that It doesnt have any sound, is there anything I can do to rectify this or is it just bad luck that I downloaded a duff one. PLEASE HELP..........

It could be bad luck and it could be a missing codec. Try to download and install ac3 (http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net) or another sound codec. You could also try to play the file in VLC (http://www.videolan.org)

or download gspot and look what codec you are missing.
VLC have some problems with sound, I think it was AAC inside a mkv container that it couldn't handle (yet).

yep, either a missing codec (but I guess in that case it your player would say it can't be played because of missing audio codec) or a junk file.
