Hi all,
same issue here.
The used memory by DC++ increases approx 100Kb per second !!!! This results also in a 100% CPU usage, and eventualy a crash (out of memory).
I use 0.674, connected to 4 hubs, made no modification to any setting for many weeks.
So, it is a weird behavour, but perhaps related to a misbehaving Windows update.

What triggers the memory usage? Start DC++, and monitor the memory use. Then connect to one hub, and see if it (or transfers) are responsible. Repeat until you have something that gives us something to go on... We can't help you without a good idea of what's happening.

Hi,
Just after I posted this problem I thought of doing that.
At the startup of DC++ it consumes approx 80Mb of memory. It stays like that for several minutes. No hubs are connected at that time.
As soon as I connect to a hub, it starts to 'eat' memory. The more hubs I connect to, the more memory I loose.
Starting up and downloads make the total amount of memory fluctuate a bit.
It does not seem to have much effect on the memory loss I have.
I do have shares in different directories on the computers disk, actually, it was on 2 physical disks. I removed 2 shares containing MP3's (sorry people) reducing my share from 180 to 110Gb. This helps to free some memory (after a restart of DC++).
Maybe the amount of files in my share is related to the problem.
But then again, I did have 300Gb shared on this machine before without any problems. Microsoft updates are the only thing I can think of that where changed in tha last few months.
I also re-installed DC 0.674, and that did not make a difference.
PC: Celeron 950MHz, 384Mb, XP Pro eng SP2, all patches that are required, Norton AV 2004, 15Gb IDE (Boot), 200Gb SATA + 250Gb sata.
It is a dedicated DC++ machine, it is not used for any other purpose.
If you need more info, please let me know.
With kind regards,
Reinier

Hi,
Hashdata.dat = 138.240Kb
hashindex.xml = 26.042Kb
If I refresh my file list, it consumes more memory, approx 12Mb extra. This memory is not released when the refresh is completed.
If I only start DC++, it does not use extra memory, that only happens as soon as the first hub is connected. That is also the time the first up and download starts.
if I disconnect from the hubs again, the memory usage stays at the same level. Nothing of it is released.
I have to shut down DC++ to release the memory.

Set all of the items in your download queue to paused and repeat this experiment. We need further information to guess the cause of the memory usage.

Hi all,
I did the test again:
event // mem use 1 // mem use 2 //users in hub
start DC++ // 68.716 // 68.444
1 hub // 73.296 // 72.688 // 3200
2 hubs // 75.444 // 74.264 // 1500
3 hubs // 81.000 // 80.100 // 6880
4 hubs // 85.960 // 86.348 // 6990
mem 1 is with download queue on normal priority
the memory usage increases slower than yesterday, but is still rizing continuously.
in a few hours, the usage is 120Mb
mem 2 is with queue on paused
The memory usage fluctuates a little bit, plus/minus 1meg
As soon as I change 5 directories from paused to normal, 1 at a time, the memory rises to approx 92Mb. and increases slowly. the directories contain a lot of small files (pictures) and some movies (800Mb a piece).
note: I have 4 slots open, 3 are in use at the time of the test.
