I get fewer hits every time I do a search for alternates. I downloads rar files. Say that I search for "kebabsax-dans.part001" I got 80 hits. When I search for "kebabsax-dans.part002" I get 40 hits. Next I half the result again. If I try 10 min later I got 80 hits at the second try. Why

There are several factors contributing to the length and breadth of search results, causing the same set of results to not neccessarily show up every time you search. UDP (used for incoming search results) is not a guaranteed tranmision protocol, packets that get lost are gone forever. In passive mode, the hub has a say in how many results you get and in either passive or active mode an outgoing search request can be dropped.
