Sharing Limit!

Hi!
I'm a new DC++ user and the school hub that I am trying to join has a 1G limit.
I uploaded 1G worth of itunes to share but it says I have 1015MiB, which I thought equaled 1G.
I still get kicked out of the hub because I do not meet the sharing limit!
I'm a bit confused.. any help would be great!
