How to handle forced 24h-disconnection/downloads ?

Hi folks,

I have a problem, my provider disconnects me every 24h and I can do
nothing against it, except connecting as fast as possible (few seconds) .
The question is how to deal with that issue when I currently have a
download running which probably will last 50 hours ?

Right now I'm seeing actually just two ways:

1.
Highening the download speed (currently only 5 KiB/s).
Is that possible ? Can I configure anything in the options providing
better conditions ?I mean, I have DSL 2 mb/128 kb, so 5KiB/s can't be
all ...

2.
What can I do, that dc++ has no problem with the forced disconnect
in a few hours ?
Is there an opportunity to save anything neccessary that every
involved element in this download (me, the other user and dc++)
can continue after the disconnect ?
Can one stop and continue downloads with dc++ ?
Can I close the program before the disconnect without any problems
to continue the download after I re-connected ?
Can I close the program at all during a download or is that a
totally 'no no' ?
And - I'm not moving really within my special discipline, as you may
already noticed *smile* - I think a part of the 24h-disconnection/
download-issue in general is, that the affected user gets a new IP.
So, does that prevent ever being able to continue a download
lasting more than 24h at all ?

I'm in this active modus and as I just have my dsl-modem between
my computer and the i-net, I apparently have no rooter.
And the IP of the hub is something like xyz.no-ip.com ...
The hub uses PtokaX DC Hub 0.3.2.6 TestDrive 4.99 and the
user I am downloading from has a DSL-connection.
He uses version 0.674, and I version 0.686 .

Plz help me, I need it .

What problems are you having?

If your ISP disconnects you every 24 hours, the transfer will be interrupted. And it's possible (or even probable) that the source will have other users waiting, and so you won't get a slot when you reconnect. There's nothing you can do about that.

If you spell out the root problem, we might be able to help.

First of all thank you all for your help .
I had to laugh, because this problem fortunally solved
itself: After this forced disconnect, my provider connected
me - as usual - within 1 minute. And fortunally the download
simply continued *happy that dc++ has a resume-function*.
This happened one time during the download and I didn't
closed dc++ during the whole time.
But I've noticed something strange .
I haven't only found the 6 folders I've downloaded in my
Download-folder, but also also one rar-file
named *name of the user I've downloaded something from*.ERWERGASDF usw. .
This rar-files contains an xml-file having the same name, but
refering to a dead page. And additionally I'm noticing a
txt-file with the same name in the folder containing the 6 folders
I was downloading. Now, what da hell is this ?
Could somebody explain me that please ?
