How do i do to download, i have access to servers and users, and people can upload from me.... When i search for songs etc nothing happens...
I have the latest version of dc++ and a newly formatted computer.
Please help

The best way to use DC++ is in ACTIVE mode. This can only occur if your computer had a port open to the outside world over which to communicate to DC++ hubs and other users.
If you have a router of any sort, it blocks all your ports by default, and you'll have to set up port forwarding in order to open up a port to allow your computer access to the outside. (Google port forwarding and your router's model number and you should find instructions).
Once you have set up port forwarding, you need to enter your IP in the settings, and ensure that it is accurate. To find out your IP simply visit http://www.whatismyip.com. A large percentage of users are on DYNAMIC ip services, which means your IP will periodically change. If this happens you will not be able to use active mode anymore until you update your IP in the settings.
Keep in mind that if you are NOT in active mode you will not be able to search or download from a large majority of users.
