setting up a hub

ok here is my problem i succesfully set up a hub on my internet machine cause i run a home network started serving no problem went on my other machine which i use dc++ on on a regular basis again logged into the hub no problem i sent my friend the ip address and he connected no problem but we couldnt download off each other files lists or anything so i set up an account on the machine with the hub on and yet again connected no problem but still the same problem with the download now he aint on passive but i am so i thought that could be the problem but the machine with the hub on when i set that up with a dc account wasnt in passive grrrrr any help would be greatly appreciated on this matter

It has nothing to do with the hub, as file transfer is from client to client. Altough I didn't understand everything in your sentence (far too long for me), I bet that the active mode of your friend's client is not properly set up.

ok i will check out them settings is there anything else i could check?

cause when i was talking to him he said he was on standard set-up (the default settings from download) so that would be active and useing port 412

Start by both going into another hub in active mode, and see if you get search results for some very generic string (like common file name extensions). That way you can start by narrowing down which one(s) of you has active mode set wrong and work from there =)
