I am using the internet through a university lan network, which transfers one megabites in and out per second, which is great.
But I am only allowed to transfer 7 gigabytes data out of my computer per week, which would only take two hours to do at maximum speed. After that limit is exceeded I would be punished (close my connection for a month for example). (...file sharing networks, multiplayer games... are not allowed... only to help in the studies blah blah.)
Am I the only one (plus other users in my domain) suffering from these limitations? Or should some kind of upload hard limit be implemented? Or are there already programs for this purpose?
Currently I always watch my dc++ client's counters and switch it off whenever I go out or to sleep. Downloads are easy to manage, but uploads aren't.
Upload hard limit
