Hello. I begin by saying i'm starting right now to use VC++ 6.0. I try to compile DCPlusPlus-0.301 with wtl7.0 and stlport-4.5.3. I have the following errors:
C:\Programmi\vari\VC98\INCLUDE\xmemory(39) : warning C4100: '_P' : unreferenced formal parameter
C:\Programmi\vari\VC98\INCLUDE\xmemory(41) : warning C4100: '_P' : unreferenced formal parameter

C:\Documenti\Progetti\windows\Direct Connect ++\client\stdinc.h(60) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'hash_map': No such file or directory
I think the problem is because stlport is not included before the standard vc directories... but where do i change this?!? I've looked (almost) everywhere but i can't figure out where i have to put my hands. I have VC++ 6.0 and i'm not unexpert with programming (both c and c++). Please, give me an answer. The "Compile.txt" file is not clear enough! Grazie

First of all is the stlport used now stlport-4.5-1020 which you can get here:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-STLPort-4.5.1020.zip?download
Regarding the include order, you change it at the same place as you add the includes. The includes att the top of the list is the first includs and the one at bottom the last. Stlport shoul be in the top, somewhere in that window shold it be buttons for moving the includes up and down in the list.

Okay. I added the latest stl version to the head of the include list (Tools->Options->Directories->Include files. Now the problem is this:
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(120) : error C2733: second C linkage of overloaded function 'InterlockedIncrement' not allowed
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(120) : see declaration of 'InterlockedIncrement'
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(121) : error C2733: second C linkage of overloaded function 'InterlockedDecrement' not allowed
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(121) : see declaration of 'InterlockedDecrement'
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(122) : error C2733: second C linkage of overloaded function 'InterlockedExchange' not allowed
c:\documenti\progetti\windows\direct connect ++\stl\stl\_threads.h(122) : see declaration of 'InterlockedExchange'
What's the problem, now?
I've one thing to ask, but please don't get mad. You publish a downloadable source version, and then one has to solve thousands problems just to compile. I don't think i'm a dumb, maybe i'm having these problems because i'm new at using Visual C++ but i'm used to source distributions under linux, where everything is much better organized. Anyway, i appreciate the work you all do on this project and my critic was just to point out something that, i think, could help a lot. I'll keep on trying! Don't desist!

Mange tak!

Download the latest SDK from
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate and add it to the beginning of your include dir also, I think only the core sdk is neccesary (not the 64-bit).
THe probelm also is that the project files for vc6 not are maintained as arne are using vc7.1 now (before 0.300 vc7).
