Downloaded videos only play audio

Post by GeekChic » 2003-12-17 02:12

Hi, I'd really appreciate some help, as I have no freakin' clue when it comes to DC++...

I download videos, but when I try to play them I only get audio. This happens with Windows Media and RealPlayer, and Quicktime just refuses to play them outright. Apparently I need another program to "properly compress" the files. Whaaaaa?

Thank you!

You need the proper codec installed on your system to play different types of video files. GSPot will tell you which video/audio codecs you need. Google will find download sites for them.

Among other things, it's a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode title... It looks like it was one of the ones dealing with the borg... actually, it is the one where Picard is captured.
