well what are you wanting to play the movie with?, if its just another computer then just burn the file like any other file you'd burn to cd, and maybe put a divx installer on there anyway so that if you ever wanna play it on a computer without divx you can install it.

I wanna play the movie on my stand-alone DVD player so I can watch it on my TV. Is it possible?

Not unless your stand-alone DVD player has DivX support, which most don't have.

Yes. You need to covert it to VCD/SVCD. First, you need to findout what formats your DVD player supports, look here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers. Next here are plenty of guides to convert the divx/xvid movie to VCD/SVCD: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/convert
