HUB Newbie

Hi everyone, I have a question concerning the DC++ hubs.

I would like to set up a hub for me and some friends of mine.

So my question is, can I upload the hub software to my remote server and have it run from there ?

I don't have a server at home, and I also dont have any computers at home that run 24/7 (nor am i planning this at the moment).

If the answer is no, then is there any compatible hub software that would run from a remote server ?

Thanks.

All hubs can be run on a remote server, however if they run in Windows it's not so easy to administer them from another computer (and it takes a lot of bandwidth). If the server is running *nix, it's much much easier... but you need a shell account on that server that allows you to run programs in background... and you'll have a hard time finding one.
