Yo!

When connecting my computer to my TV I can only se films (dowloaded from DC++) in black and white and the picture is blurred. What to do? No one seems to know. Either it works or it doesn't and people give up.

I do not want to do so. Please help me!

Are the films in colour when you look at them on the computer? and are you sure the not at the wires are ok not faulty??

Hi!
The films look great on the computer, nice colour and the wire is new. It's a S-video to SCART, with 3.5mm stereo-connection to the SCART (but I don't use that one) and with "in/out-redirector". It fits ;-)

Does it sound like the right one or is there another one that's better?

That's a quite common problem with s-video -> composite. You need to get better cables that merges the two "image-channels" in the s-video into a single one in the composite cable. At the moment your cable only connects the black/white-part, not the colour. (I had to buy a couple of cables/connectors before I found some that worked.)

Oki, so if I buy an videowire with SCART and a S-videoadapter (I'm looking in the "Clas Ohlson-catalog") it'll work? Plug-and-play?! I'm loving it!!! :wink:

Well, probebly no. The ones I first bought that didn't work were all from Clas Ohlson. Stay away from them. I later bought a working one at Biltema ( http://www.biltema.se/products/product. ... emId=43114 ), but I'm sure you could find it elsewhere.

also you could try changing the channel of your tv from au to svhs...that fixed my black & white picture to color picture...

Another thing to do is if you have a dvd drive and a dvd movie try playing it in your computer and seeing if it still comes out black+white on your tv. Make sure that on the dvd it says NTSC if you are in the USA, or PAL if you are in Europe/Asia. If you are in the USA and you play a NTSC movie in the drive and it still comes out bw, then it is probably your cable, as mentioned earlier. But if it comes out fine, then the problem is that the dvd-rips and/or cams you downloaded are in PAL format which is incompatible with NTSC tvs, unless you have an in-line converter, but is perfectly compatible with your computer. If it turns out that the dvd plays fine, try re-encoding it. If it still doesn't work then re-post.
