Creating a hub having a router

First of all i wanna say that i'm italian, so i apologize for my english. I have a router NETGEAR wireless ADSL Modem Gateway DG824M which metches a computer by a wire and another computer by wireless. I want to create a hub with the wireless computer, but it doesn't word. I read something here about the routers, but i found nothing about the type of router that i have. The same thing happens when i wanna create a radio with Winamp...I also ask a friend of mine who has another type of router (not NETGEAR) and he wanted to create a hub too, but he can't because he has got the same problem that i have...
Please help me! It's more than a month that i'm searching for an answear to this problem!

Setting up a hub behind a router is the same as setting up DC++ behind a router: you need to forward a (single) port to your hub machine. Typically hubs run on :411, so forward 411/tcp.

Here's the basic idea. If you're behind a router you are "NAT'd". You are on your own sub-network which exists outside the internet. Therefore, you need to route particular traffic in to the proper computer on your little sub-network. To get your radio station and hub to be visible to the outside world, you need to forward a port through your public IP to your sub-network IP.

BSOD wrote all about this subject as it applies directly to DC++ and active mode. link.

The same concept appplies to running a hub, webserver, shoutcast server or whatever other services you want to run.

i followed the istructions in www.portforward.com and i found my router (NETGEAR DG824M). But at this point "Port forwarding" in this router is done in two different sections. The first section ("Services") allows me to specify ports and select the protocol these ports will use. The second section is "Rules" has outbound and inbound services. But which port have i to select???? the 411 port isn't in the menu. what have i got to do??
plz help me

i have done exactly what u've said, but it doesn't work. So I have some questions. I create the service DC_HUB, but when i go in the "Firewall rules" i have to go in the Outbound Services or in the Inbound Services?? then in the LAN Users menu i'm asked to insert a single address or an address range?? which have i to choose?
I think here is the problem...

Right i had the same problem,

i've forwarded both ports for the hub
tcp port: 411 and second port: 22

that did the trick and it's working fine now......... :lol:

Why did you forward port 22? Its the SSH Remote Login Protocol which is NOT required for a hub to work.
