okey guys something gotta fucking happen cause thing are standing still here and its not good for adcportal is damaging towards the adc community if nothing happens if anyone feels they dont wanna do adcportal and dont wanna help out anymore just say so and there will be no hard feelings if that person wanna quit but it just cant remain a 1 man show i cant do everything alone i need ppl i can rely on that can keep up 2 date with news about project that dare to post news about projects and keep forum alive cause i didnt start this project to have another dead forum so come on and help out

and again if ANYONE wanna quit or not up to the task no hard feelings better to say that u wanna quit instead of just hanging on.

I rather terminate instead of this becoming another dead forum and be done with it.

ive requested some stuff and i know there are some issues with fixxing em and i do hope for some support or else we need to get a overview and consider changes so that these things doesn't happen.

Now with all that said i do hope you all search your soul and give me (and the rest of us) a truthful answer.

Adc portal has been the one and only true place since its creation to the day, where all the developers in adc could meet, discuss and bring out ideas. All users visiting the site had access to all the knowledge base that we have, they could enter and talk and express their opinion. Nobody was ever ignored on adcportal, or taken lightly. Adcportal gave fair chances to all the projects no matter if they are clients, hubs, misc or whatever. I dont think that nmdc ever had such a site or that adc will ever have another.
I cant talk in the name of all the people involved, but for myself i've been trying in the last year to provide the best information for all the knowledge i have, the projects that i;ve been involved in ( dshub, dc++ , adch++ ) , with full contribution about them on adcportal as on the wiki. And i will keep doing that .
Toast can't do this alone, he is just one man. I ve been helping around as much as i can. All the news and rumors and development stuff and news have reached adcportal , all that crossed over to me.
I hope that i havent done anything wrong about working on adcportal and if i did i really ask all of you your forgiveness. So from now on, I will continue to contribute on my side with the best i can, and i hope all the people involved in adcportal will. A big site is maintained by many people and each of them has their own part.
We need to stay together if we are to make something out of this
Just someone

Ok, somehow I feel this is targeted at me...

I really do not know what to say or do, because right now I am involved in all too many projects. Take this as useless whining if you like but none of those projects are of the sort that I'd like to give up on.

ADCPortal being one of the most important ones by far since it is perhaps the one with most work behind it (excluding ApexDC, but then again Apex is a project which has importance far superior, than any other could ever have, to me).

I also don't know if anything that I am about to say next is going to make any sense but I'll say it anyways. Since I have to juggle between two languages (c++ and php) mainly I have something that I guess could be called "coding moods". With this I mean the habit of turning languages on and off which in practice means that I do only one language at a time.

Right now I am in "C++ mood" f.ex. and during this time, if someone tries to get me to do stuff in php for instance they usually only manage to get me irritated. If I then force myself to do something in php quickly simply to shut them up to get back to C++ the results are usually well below my average, so this is obviously something I'd rather avoid.

I do not know for certain what triggers the switch of interest from one language to another but most probably it has something to do with what happens around me. Because it just happens at random and the lengths vary greatly.

If I were to speculate, I think I originally developed this "system" to function like an emergency hatch so that whenever I get stressed over something C++ related I jump to php and block everything that is C++ from my mind and vice versa.

I really don't know when php will be "needed" again, but I do know that right now I am more comfortable with C++ than I have been for quite some time. Everything just falls into place (Java really is the only odd piece in the whole puzzle, but thankfully I have yet to find enough good points in it to let it complicate the fine balance c++ and php have within my head).

I might have really trailed off here, but it feels good to think about how things work inside ones head sometimes and I find this working extremely well for me too, because to this day there is not a single mistake I have made because I mixed the workings of two different language which is something I like to keep the way it is.

if u took it personal then something must have struck home its the all around performance of ADCPortal it feels like im doing this all alone and nothing gets done.

Catalin has tried to contact you for days about how to update i gave him the go head to just try and i do want him to implement the spam mod since airdc got spammed to shit again even after updating so updating isn't the solution.

Again its the all around performance thats lacking stating from the smallest user to the creators we need to be more active.

And since i might be moving soon and be without any connection at all it would be nice if everyone helped out a bit and made some posts etc.

I never said updating was the solution, if you have been reading my messages, I said that changing the default settings might be better (easier) solution than a mod by long shot ie. for the future upgrades.

How to update? It's just a standard phpbb upgrade process, nothing more to it. Of course because of some of the changes regarding date handling there might be minor issues with the main site, but that we can only know when the forums have been updated.
